Our Beginnings

Friends of the Earth Lavender is a family owned and operated business.  Friends of the Earth Lavender was born through the passion and love of my husband's landscape contracting business, Yiannis Landscaping. During his 45 years as a landscape contractor, he had always dreamed of growing organic lavender liked he remembered seeing during his youth in his hometown village of Sparta, Greece. In addition to my husband and I, our daughters Krystina and Angela assist with the development, marketing, and selling of our lavender products.  Our daughter, Krystina, has the gift of many talents.  She brings her culinary background and expertise to our business.  She obtained her culinary degree from Le Cordon Bleu in Sacramento and has traveled all over Greece as a chef. She also runs a successful blog, "Kouzounaskitchen.com." She understands lavender not only for its healing and aromatherapy purposes, but also for its worth in the culinary world. Our daughter,  Angela, obtained her Master's Degree in Business Administration as well as her baccalaureate degree in Business Marketing.  She brings her marketing expertise, the importance of transparency in business, and the value of customer feedback  to the table.  Additionally, being a mother of a toddler son, she values the benefits of organic products, and the significance of health and well-being. In 1998, Yiannis’ long-awaited dream came to fruition; he took the plunge and planted 6,000 lavender plants.  The sight of the "first bloom”, thousands of plants producing their magnificent lavender-colored blossoms, was awe-inspiring. We have come to learn about lavender and appreciate it not only for its colorful splendor but also for its healing properties of the mind, body, and soul.  

Our Story

Friends of the Earth Lavender offers fine body and aromatherapy products from the lavender we grow organically, harvest, and distill. Through our ongoing research of lavender and health, we formulate our recipes with your well-being and satisfaction in mind. Only the finest ingredients are combined with our organic lavandin essential oil to make our aromatherapy products. Without additives or fillers, Friends of the Earth Lavender prides themselves on creating soothing, natural products that promote wellness.
